Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) is a program designed to further develop the nursing skills and knowledge of currently licensed and working registered nurses. The curriculum is built on an existing foundation of biological, social, and physical sciences contributing to the science of nursing. Cultural, intellectual, and social development will be promoted through liberal arts classes for the professional nurse. The RN to BSN program focuses on advancement of the nurse’s role, applying progressive skills as a manager of care, teacher, caregiver, and delivery of both holistic and evidenced based professional nursing care in the contemporary healthcare environment.

Students entering the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) program must be a currently Licensed Registered Nurse and have course credits from an approved institution with equivalent of 64 quarter course credits or 43 semester credits in the discipline of nursing from an Associate of Science Degree Nursing (RN to BSN) Program and with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. In addition to the above education, listed in the table above is the RN to BSN program outline that the student will take at the College to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).

* Students must complete a minimum of 56 quarter credit hours or equivalent in General Education containing at least one course in each of the following areas: humanities, mathematics, science, and social science. Substitutions may be determined by transcript evaluation by the Dean of Nursing. All required General Education course grades must be "C" or higher for transfer.
